The Bible says, “Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.” 1st Corinthians 7:2 So, we know from scripture that God does not favor sex before marriage.
But the question is, why?
What’s so wrong with two people who are in love, making love without some piece of paper saying that they are married?
Since my style of teaching is always to go straight to the heart and get to the core of the matter I will forgo discussing the dangers of STD’s and unplanned pregnancies and do what I do best.
Marriage between one man and one woman who are both virgins is God’s perfect plan because marriage is a Blood Covenant and God is a Covenant keeping God.
The Bible says, “Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.” Deuteronomy 7:9
A biblical covenant is a legal, binding contract that allows God to legally protect and provide for His people within the confines of that covenant.
Since Satan corrupted mankind in the Garden of Eden he thinks that he should be in complete control of the human race and considers it unfair for God to esteem mankind so highly and still treat us with love and respect.
Satan’s hatred for humanity knows no bounds especially since he CONNOT be redeemed and there is NO chance of his ever being reconciled with God.
So, since he was kicked out of Heaven and lost his privileged position he’s been trying to accuse God of being unfair in His dealings with the Human Race.
Therefore, for God to remain above reproach His every dealing with the Human Race must be done within the confines of a formal Covenant or Contract with rules and regulations so that Satan will have nothing to accuse Him of.
(Incidentally, that’s why God can’t just leave Heaven and come down here and fix everything)
If the devil could ever legally accuse God of being unfair in His dealings with mankind then this would show that God is not worthy to rule the universe and Satan would then swoop in and usurp God’s authority the same way he did with Adam.
(That’s why Satan has so much leeway in the earth – Adam sold out to him in the Garden of Eden)
Another salient point to note is that marriage between a man and a woman represents the union of Christ to His Church.
The scripture says to Christians, “…You were like a virgin bride I had chosen only for Christ.” 2nd Corinthians 11:2 (CEV) and “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.” Ephesians 5:25
So, the relationship between Christ and His Church is like husband and wife.
Now, when the Roman soldier pierced Jesus’ side and blood flowed over the spear, that blood became the sign of the New Covenant, which is the legal, binding contract between God and Christians.
Similarly, marriage is a blood covenant.
When two virgins consummate their marriage, the blood that flows during sex for the first time is the sign of the legal, binding contract they made with each other and with God, so that He can divinely protect and provide for them within the confines of that blessed union.
When a Christian’s life or well-being is threatened by Satan, that Christian can plead the blood of Jesus against any such attacks; what he’s doing is simply reminding the devil that he’s under the divine protection of God through the legal contract or covenant to which he belongs, and of which that shed blood represents.
In the same way, when we remain virgins and consummate our marriage the right way, if the devil attacks our marriage we can remind him that we have much more than just a piece of paper saying we’re married.
We can plead the blood or remind him that what we have is a legal, binding contract made before witnesses, sanctioned by God and ratified by the blood that was shed on our wedding night.
We can remind the devil that he has no jurisdiction to mess with our marriage, our home or our family because our union is not based just upon a piece of paper but rather it sealed in blood and under the divine blessings and protection of Almighty God.
That’s why sex before marriage is wrong!
It’s to PROTECT US not to satisfy some outdated law in some archaic book.
