The Archangels Division of Power

Revelations 12:7 declares, “And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.” This dragon of course, is none other than Satan. The Bible says, “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan...” (Revelations 12:9) So, our opening scripture establishes the fact that a characteristic of Archangels is that they have authority over other angels. The question then is, how many angels did each Archangel have authority over? I believe each Archangel was given authority over 1/3 of the angelic population of which there are an endless number. “But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels.” Hebrews 12:22 How do we know each Archangel controlled 1/3 of the angelic population? First, by simple mathematics; there were 3 of them, Michael, Gabriel and Lucipher, therefore it would make sense for them to be given equal authority over the entire angelic population which would mean 1/3 each. Second, because the scriptures that say, “And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered...” (Revelations 12:4) As we already saw, the dragon is the devil and the “third part of the stars of heaven” represents 1/3 of the Angelic population over which he already had jurisdiction and which he had convinced to rebel with him during his Coup d'état in Heaven. The following verse confirms that angels are represented by stars, “…The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches:” (Revelations 1:20) Even though it is commonly accepted that the angels in this passage refer to human messengers the symbolization of stars holds true for the heavenly angels also. The Book of Revelations is written mostly in signs and symbols and not to be taken literally but needs to be accurately interpreted, which takes years of study and intimate fellowship with the Holy Spirit. So, with these scriptures and deductions I believe I have accurately and effectively illustrated the concept of each Archangel having authority over 1/3 of the angelic population, showing an equal division of power among them.
